21st March 2025 - cherish the invitation to find internal balance

Dear reader,

Happy Spring Equinox ! The sun shines equally on both hemispheres balancing our hours of sunlight and darkness. Aligning with the rhythm of nature we can cherish the invitation to find internal balance.

Can we acknowledge our whole emotional world and examine the balance between light and shadow in ourselves? Can we honour all aspects of our relationships with open honesty? And can we embrace the seasonal shifts within our own inner nature?

This season we begin tending to our gardens again. One of the first jobs outside when we just moved into our new home was getting rid of buttercups. I do love them and they bring the first bees, so they happily flower in a patch that loses sunlight once the tree grows its leaves back.

Last year we put more love into our garden and I proudly kept clearing weeds to create space for future plants. But I noticed something curious - everywhere that didn't grow buttercups before they now have spread filling all empty space. I may have unintentionally helped them thrive in perfect conditions.

Some problems are like that better to be left alone - the more we focus on them, the more they grow and stop us from seeing the beautiful new growth in our garden. Instead what are we wanting to plant - and what can we nourish and strengthen in ourselves and our relationships? I'm curious which potential is held in your own "inner darkness" waiting to blossom?

As the sun returns the opportunity arises to connect with nature in mindful ways, tapping into movement and play. I hope to meet some of you over the coming months!
