Winter writings: connection & reflection

Updated: Nov 17, 2022

13th January 2022

Hello you,

Here it is, my very write-up! I very much appreciate your attention as a reader and let this be an invitation to open up the conversation between us.

"Connection is the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” ― Brené Brown.

We changed over from one year to another, but energetically we are still in the midst of winter. It's a great time to tune inward and take the time to reflect and vision. If you're not achieving all the January goals yet, you might still be doing exactly what you need right now for you to get there!

When you actively visualize the action you want to take (and these can be small steps), your brain activates the same neural pathways as if you were actually taking the action. So even science confirms that breaks can be productive :) ! It's all about how we really feel when we have that time off to sit with ourselves.

The past year has come with deep personal challenges for many of us, including myself. I had set out to tune into the ritual of the old year making room for the new and I wasn't quite ready to let go of 2021 yet (maybe it was the lack of fireworks :)). So I completely surrendered to cocooning in the winter feels and intuitively took time to process what to release, what to let go of and what to cherish.

Have you had the opportunity to fully celebrate yourself and all your achievements (personally and professionally)? And how does it feel to celebrate you?

Have you noted all that you are grateful for?

And how do you feel when you tap into that gratitude?

Can you find the learning and growth in times and experiences that were challenging for you mentally, physically or emotionally?

Notice how these phrases land in your body. If you or anyone in your circle finds this difficult, getting support to tap into your answers to these questions will make a huge difference to your overall well-being. You spend every minute of the day with yourself, so I would encourage you to make some of those moments nourishing quality time. If you don't have the support that you feel you need, I can help with this.

I'd love to hear back from you and make my writings meaningful and helpful throughout the year. What are the challenges you are currently facing and which topics would you like to read about? What kind of tools or content would you like to receive? I might even challenge myself and pop in supportive videos!
